As usual, we are here with our monthly update from the REVL team. This month we’ve been drop testing the product, figuring out how deep we can take it under water, and carefully testing the motors and lenses. In short, we’re doing everything we can to make sure that—come shipping day—you get a superbly high quality camera.
A Growing Team
First, you will be happy to learn that our software team is growing! We’ve been rebuilding the app from scratch, making it smoother and user-testing it to ensure that everything is running optimally and effectively.
As you already know, over the past months we have experienced a few delays with different aspects of our product. The fantastic news is that we’ve overcome all of them.
We had experienced issues with our lens, battery and WiFi antenna… all of these are now fixed. Check out the live video on our Facebook group to see the new battery and lenses in action. You can also learn about our WiFi antenna which is working like a charm; at ten meters we are getting 43.31 megabits per second, which is great because we need this kind of high bandwidth to capture all of your adventures.
We’ve been working on all aspects of our hardware as well. The plastic parts of the camera have been tooled, and the next step is to tool the metal parts. We’ve also been working on a dual battery charger, so your adventures will be backed by double the battery power. We are also thinking about creating a way for you to continuously charge the battery—but more on that later.
Right on Schedule…
All of these updates sum up to our team being right on schedule! REVL will go into mass production in late August, and you can expect to get your camera shortly after that process begins.
That’s it for now! As always, thank you for all of your support and patience.
Our team looks forward to getting REVL out into the world, capturing your amazing adventures!
